A little more...


Got the X behind the fuel cell in. Started on the slender double-X on the belt bars to rear bumper.

I really like the look of the slender-X with the slight kick from the back. But I'm not sure if I like the side profile. Couple comparison pics.

I think the straight leg follows the chassis lines much better, don't like the side view with the bent leg. Just my 2 cents. Awesome as hell build. I'm always glad to see updates on this build.

Yep, I feel the same way, but I like it from every other angle. I do appreciate the input and compliments.

Went with the original kick. It looks great from 359 different angles...and it will spend most of its life covered by bedsides. Also got the spreader behind the radiator in and one roof bar done.

More progress last night. Only 2 pieces of .120 tube left on the back end, (at bump stops), and of course the bumper area once the skins are in place.
B-pillar x's are done. C-Pillar lower diagonals in. Roof diagonals are done. I put some roll in them to gain an inch more head room. Then got back to the front...

Only a few gussets, and a small attachment for seat belt shoulder clips, then the roof can go back on.

Just some miscellaneous progress tonight. Biggest hurdle was finally burning in the engine crossmember so I can have a near rolling chassis. Just the trans to mount, and waiting on two more shocks and bumps.

Few guilty pleasure pictures, (and motivation). Finally on the ground at full bump and rolling around.

Still pretty hot in the shop today, no heavy fabrication. But I did find something to keep Carter out of my hair...

Tight fit on the grill support. No hood pins in this build...functional hood release and secondary latch. There will be an air dam, over radiator to grill support, to ram air to the radiator, and attach said support.

It'll be permanent, until I kill it and need another. Just removed for full welding of cage.
