Milli amps are milli amps,doesnt matter if it is lipo,lion,nmh or nicad
Lipos will generally have a smaller foot print and weigh less with more voltage, all great advantages.They can be had fairly cheap from different sources but you get what you pay dor and will notice the difference in a quality cell.Cheapbatterypacks.com is a good source. There 1300 and 1700 packs are great.
Your esc will need lipo cut off as they are generally ruined if you let the cell get below 3v.A external cutoff is also avail.
Charger needs to be lipo compatable,I charge all my lipo at 1c which takes about an hour to accomplish from cut off voltage.Some of the newer lipos can be charged at a higher rate but it will decrease the lifespan of the cell.
