Best Steak Ever thread

Re:

Even though it isn't a "traditional" steak, I prefer a good center cut prime rib. It's been a while but the one at H3 in Fort Worth was hard to beat. Village Tavern in Winston, NC also had good steaks for anyone passing through.

Normally I get the Chuck Eye also cuz they are cheap. Typically marinate in Worcester & Montreal steak and grill at 450-500 for 3-5 min per side.

A favorite appetizer for cookouts here is arrachera from the local Mexican butcher. Flank steak but delicious.

St Elmos downtown Indianapolis. Casual wear but expensive as hell, but the steaks are unbelievable.

My boss fixes an awesome ribeye. While ribeye and cut 1 1/4 1 1/2 steaks. Tinderize with the little needle tenderizer. Little bit of seasoning salt and Angelos steak seasoning. Poke it with a big 3 prong fork.

Cook on a cheap green Coleman smoker. One charcoal chimney full of charcoal and a few hickory sticks. 7 to 8 min each side and melt in your mouth!

#1 Peppercorn Fillet at Harry Caray's on Kinzie in Chicago (Rivernorth area), went back a few years later and it was not even in my top 50. Was just the right steak, right chef, right night I guess.
#2 My buddy Doug's backyard kitchen he did a New York in a skillet inside the grille, and just got the stars to align. A couple of us measure all steaks by that night.
#3 We have so much cow in the freezer at all times, I dont really have a standout 3rd.

I know I've had impressive, then had less than impressive at every major chain steakhouse. Continually above the bar would be Vic & Anthonys. Theres a few of them, OG is in Houston, then they are in the Golden Nugget Casinos. Vegas, Lake Charles, and Atlantic City.

There is a place in Nashville, I can't remember the name, the restaurant is on the top floor and rotates while you eat. I took my wife there for valentines day about 15 years ago. The room rotates completely around while you eat. Sorriest stake I've ever had. They took good steak and put some kind of raspberry sauce on it and lost the meat taste altogether. The salad had stuff in it like I spray round up for on my farm. Cost $205.00. I guess we make the best steak. My wife has a rub she puts on and I lay in on the fire a few minutes. Can't beat a good cows ass.

Egg........ And you accuse me of hiding money.

I've had it a long time. Before they were popular. Green egg is from my home town in tucker ga. I said you have a nice truck. It's stupid when people say that so I wouldn't say that to you.

Man....we got some rich folks up in here. I ate a couple Great Value brand hot dogs, Great Value shredded cheese all on white bread yesterday. :(

Re:

Mine was a king cut aged prime rib from misty's steakhouse and lounge one day passing through Nebraska for my birthday. $26 but worth every penny.

The Peddler in Gatlinburg, Tn makes a nice steak and they cut all the steak to any thickness at your table.

The Peddler is actually a small chain based out of North Carolina.... Very good steaks.

#1- Aged Filet served medium rear from No Way Jose in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. In all honesty, probably the best meal I have ever eaten.

#2- House Filet served medium rear from Sullivan's Steakhouse in Charlotte North Carolina.

Those are the only two that really stand out. I'm a big steak guy and have had the chance to eat in some very nice restaurants all over the country with work and vacations. I can't truly choose a number 3 but steak sure does seem to taste better when someone else is paying for it. :eat:

If I ever go to New York, I have always said I would go here for a steak.

Back to Connors, I brag on their steaks a lot, but always have a few tell me that Texas De Brazil in Huntsville has better steaks. All you can eat in there for $49.99 a person, premium cuts of everything brought by the table, as much as you want. Steak, lamb, chicken, etc. I just never have felt like blowing over $100 on just food for me and the ole lady. Can buy a lot of good beer for $100..... :****:
