I might finally have a buggy :woot:
I had the blacksheep for many many years but was too ashamed to take it most places and still claim that I can fab :wtflol: laughing1

When Lay posted up this one I had to jump on it.

Fusion
5.3/350/(atlas or 205, lets see if I find an Atlas)
Shaved 14 rear w/ 5.13's
Shaved lp 60 front w/ 5.13's
badass interior work on the insides, thanks Daniel (and neal I'm assuming)

Fusions have little uptravel in mind when they're made.

The fender bar is right in the way of a tire wanting to stuff there. When it was first done, the rad was mounted and the "duck bill" on the front truss hit about the time a tire would hit the fender bars.

It was made for a ram to sit on top of, and have it over the top of leaves. That is too high for this app
100_3635.jpg

so I chopped it

I also had to burn out a clevis mount as these old cylinders I had are cross drilled

It came with Dually hubs, and I had turned down some a couple years ago

the bearings were usable but all the races were fawked. new races and seals and my trusty old pirate flanges I've had for 5 plus years and we're ready

Since I cut the old rad mount out, I had to put one back that still fit under the hood and cleared the hydro fittings at full stuff
100_3675.jpg

and since the fender bars had to leave to clear the tires, I put some new sweeps in and mounted rad to them

I used the old cradle Daniel had made for the bottom, just different placement and then boxed it with plate front and back
100_3685.jpg

I also used parts of the old upper mounts, and added a speed holed strap across the top to tie them together so they could bolt straight down.

That's tonight, no pics of the fender bars cut out of there.

The shafts are capable of right at 41.5* of turning at full bind. The hole on the arm is set so the ram bottoms at 39*. The tire bottoms on the link at 40* and the grille hoop at full stuff at 39*. I should be able to stuff and steer with only rubbing at full lock. I am going to hard steering stop the axle as well.

Here's a 4.75" bs wheel with krawler
100_3674.jpg

I gained 4.5" of uptravel, and I like to run at least 6" up. The top of cage with 6" of up on 42's before was at 80.5". Now I'm down into the 76" range, still not lowrider stuff, but much better.

Rzr jeep hybrid. I call it a JZR or jizzer

So Dad pulled a tractor in the door the day before my moms surgery on her shoulder, pulled it apart and left it. It rained 1" with wind, everything was soaked laughing1
He isn't able to work on it because he's taking care of her laughing1

Next on the list is a tcase and driveshafts/exhaust. I want all the tabs done before I tear down for paint. Still lots and lots to do, but I'm making headway fast.

keep us posted on the finish i looked at the rig and wished i could have bought it but got a baby on the way good luck on the build!!!!!!!!!!

We worked on (we need a name for this rig) the buggy today and got some good progess. First off here are some interior shots, it is :woot: (almost looks as good as mine)

Here it is with the fender bars cut out to allow for more up and it shows the new tubes Kelly put in. We worked on making brackets that will relocate the powersteering pump higher, relocate the alternator to the passsenger side and moves around the idler pulley. This way your upper links can run right up next to your crank pulley.
