• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

Building the BK Compound

Well Ive got all the knobs installed on the cabinets today.

I am laying out my Deck and trying to decide how big to go. It is on the back (lake side of the house)

It will definetly be 12' wide. I am thinking of making it 24' long. I have around 32' of room to work with. I want the ladies to be able to lay out in some lawn chairs up there and have room for a grill and a fire pit as well. Thoughts? I already have an interior stairwell that leads up to the deck so it will not have stairs. (I figure this will help with security and such, noone can just walk up on the porch and look in to the house or break in). 6x6 posts for support. It is 9.9" from the ground to the bottom of the door (deck level). So it seems like some 16 footers would do the trick and double as posts to attache the guard rails.

Got any pictures of your potential deck area? I'm having a hard time visualizing it.

Here ya go. The wall is 32' long but we also have the 4' porch overhang. So the porch can be between 24' to 36' long and 12' wide.

I wouldn't go wider than what the height of the handrails on the deck would allow. Might make it easier for access from the roof for people to get on the deck..... Just my .02

Finally got around to finishing the stairs. Oak stair treads and some painted MDF for the kick plates and sides.

The bathroom concrete counter top was a battle but I finally like it. I started out with a black acid stain but it was too solid of a look so I went back over it with some tan to give it a marble look and I love it now. Got the sinks and mirrors installed today. Woop! Woop!

That turned out to be wayyyyyyy bigger than I had imagined from the start! Super nice place man, really digging the bathroom sink setup and the siding. Nice choice! :drinkers:
