I think you should consider re-doing the a pillars without the splices. Would make it a lot stronger/safer.

In the process of that needed to figure out my angles. Just started bending. No drawings or measurements

Do you care to explain your reasoning on this? I read a very good thread on pirate about splicing and it if done right it should be just as strong.

I don't know how he spliced it; certainly could be OK with a long enough insert and rosette welds. A 2" long piece stuck in and butt welded won't be though. I just would not intentionally leave a splice in a structural tube on a new build, though. Too easy to go back and bend it as one continuous piece at this stage. Look cleaner too.
