dodge oil pans

Anybody know if you can sneak an oil pan off a 99 dodge 1/2 4x4 without pulling the front out or pulling the motor? My father in laws rig is having oil pressure issues (5.9 gasser I believe) and I need to get the pan off and pull bearing caps to check the mains...

gives me the idea that you can remove the oilpan without endangering the timing cover too much, just like a small block chevy.
