Hey can't fault him there he was able to pay cash for a new truck from that event alone! :stir: :woot:

I've seen comments like this a few times lately, it's frustrating and quite frankly wrong. I guess I'm a little edgy and defensive today.. I put myself through college to learn a skill to get a good job and work hard every day to better myself, its really none of anybody's business commenting on my financial situation.

Honestly that's fine and fun, it's really just the RBD jabs, I don't think anybody understands what it costs and the time it takes to run an event. I do RBD now because I enjoy seeing other people have a good time and I work hard as I can to allow that to happen. I see this with SRRS and tons of other events where people think they are just counting money and don't understand what goes into making it happen.

Good ole hardline derail...

It's supposed to make a profit? I must be doing it wrong. LOL

I get the same thing and hear the same rumors. "He's getting rich and the drivers are getting nothing."

Like anything else people don't see the whole story. They don't see the hundreds of hours or the thousands of miles put in just to organize events, work with sponsors, and work with drivers. If it wasn't for all the great friends I have to volunteer it would never happen. SRRS doesn't pay me a paycheck. Lots of SRRS expenses I pay out of my pocket but it's something I love to do. Just like the media guys. These guys put in tons of work because it's what they love. Maybe one day it will show a profit or give back a little in the future. Like my shop the benefit for me is I get to do something I love to do everyday and so far it's kept me being able to continue SRRS.

If RBD makes you money then good for you. You work the entire weekend of your bday and you've put almost a decade into growing RBD. You should benefit something. Hopefully you do get some benefit from something you've put so much time into.

Over a dear friends office door:

"Profit is not a dirty word!"

I hope both RBD and SRRS, and the like are extremely profitable. That is why we do what we do. Do you think I could retire at 56 if I was not in a profitable business? I make no excuses, and neither should y'all.

You must've been a carpenter, cause you nailed it. "No apologies".

Without people profiting, what would be the incentive to put in all the time and effort to put these events on that we love to go to? I wouldn't do all that for free. Would you?

You're exactly right. I don't see me retiring cause I don't know how to slow down but that may change one day. I do hope for my long hours and running crazy pay off in the future for everyone involved.

Exactly. It amazes me when I hear someone talking about how a business was making so much money and they can't understand how it went broke. Money coming in is easy to see but in reality the outflow of cash is rarely recognized.

From the outside its always easy to view a business as getting rich, from the inside we realize it's a ton of heartburn and effort just to survive at times. You better love what you do!

Why socialism doesn't work. You need blue sky as a motivator. That potential it could turn into something big. I'm self employed and don't sleep much because I feel like it could still happen laughing1

Summary to avoid speculation is heyitsray was permanently banned for intentionally causing problems, then thriving and gloating about the drama he caused to others. If you have any more questions regarding that, feel free to PM me.

Little late, but, thank you for making the hardline a better place :drinkers:
