Liberty for memorial weekend

About what time did you notice this? Where was the damage? Did you get any pic's? Either of the trail or the vehicles.

About 1 pm? somewhere in there. No pics, bunch of heeps and a guy with a Mr. T starter kit (never seen that much gold on the trail before?)

did you try to do anything to stop them?
IMO, its more the fault of whoevers holding up the trail by not gently winching off to the side to let traffic by, or at least asking for a tug out of the way. its a busy wekend

By the time we got there it was too late. We were coming from the other direction and waited for them to go by us after being told there was a bunch of jeeps coming. After waiting for a hour we went to see what the holdup was and thats when we saw the carnage around the corner. We tried to help winch broken axle guy out of the way but it became evident that all the winch pulls in the world wernt going to fix bad driving and a refusal to listen to much more experienced wheelers advice such as "Just idle the tires while being pulled, dont floor it!"

We went thru there before or right about noon. The FS ORV Ranger was with us. Later that afternoon they (the FS) were dealing with another issue. I will check with the FS and see if they can come up with a common CB chanel to use and have it posted on a sign as you enter either the trails of the Liberty area. That way reporting these issues would be easier.

thought you said you witnessed all this an were furious about it. sounds like just some dude thought he owned the trail, and couldnt dive in snow. i think memorial weekend is full of those peoples, whether at the boat launch, or whatever.
