OK, so measured up everything, started cutting (the first leg was too short...... not sure how I managed that.
oh yeah.. plan change, that's right.
some new legs:
welding
more welding
One side main rail is done. lines up well (clearanced the pinch weld to get them up, will make a "bump stop" on the inside of the main rail) and should weld on nicely.
addded gussets to the bottom of the outside of the leg where it meets the main rail.
not sure why.
notching tube with a plasma ctter and angle grinder.
cutting angles with a sawsall.
YAAAAYYY for making stuff!!!
whacked off the bottom of the rear of the bed.
Will be building a new bumper soon:
cut off the spot welds for the remaining bottom panel:
nice flat edge for the bottom of the bed now, at the factory lip.
and started the rear bumper.
so far Ihave the frame mounts and one reinforcement
2x3 .180 wall fits the frame perfect
2 inch .120 wall, wedled to the inside and outside of the 2x3 for the reinforcement.
now I need more 2x3 or 2x4 for the main bumper frame, and a hitch socket.
or I might cut the socket off of the trailer hitch. If Someone doesn't want to buy it that is.
monstrosity of a rear "bumper"
Gabe helped a lil
