rebuilding w56?

So I found a trans in monroe for $50, noisey in 5th gear. I have never rebuilt a transmission before, how hard would it be to either replace the reverse gear in mine or replace 5th gear in the other one?

The complete rebuild instructions are in the factory service manuals. Marlin sells rebuild kits. You will need a press & a few pullers. Crash has rebuilt a few, he would be one of the best people to ask.

I just picked up a W56 for my toyota this weekend as well.

if i were you i would definitely take a stab at it for $50, if its just noisy it might be a perfect core! check out marlin for the price of the rebuild kit. My r151f is getting really noisy and I may try to rebuild it soon as well. Does the w56 come with a transfer case? if so its well worth the 50. good luck:awesomework:
