Sport climbers

We went to a place outside of Vantage called "Sunshine"......these cool rock formations perfect for climbing. There are 400+ bolted routes. After a good hike (20min) from the car, we went down though the rocks to get to our planned climbs. They all have names, the two we did; the names escape me. The 1st was a 5.9 rated climb, exposed and moderate difficulty. No video.:booo: The 2nd was a 5.8 two stage climb. Nice holds all the way up and a crack all the way up to rest in. We both climbed to the 1st stage, and then belayed each other up and down (from a sketchy flat spot:cheer:) on the climb to the top. Then repelled down from the flat spot, to ground.

I'll get better video next time, it's a little different from using it on my car.......and most of the time, adrenaline makes me forget to record.:D

Wow that's some hardcore ****. I've only climbed and repelled little rocks (30ft) and indoor walls. This stuff looks like a good adrenaline rush. :awesomework:

The top of the 1st climb was 30ft and the 2nd was 80ft total.

It's a rush! We're going once a week.

Looks fun. If your goign on an easy climb Darby let me know and ill give it a shot if your going up ny 38.

Super fun climbing area. The 2 pitch route was great. Belaying each other from our little ledge up there was intense. The climb ended ontop of the pillar 40 feet above us in the video. Mark climbed both routes without complait, we had some good nervous laughter for sure :awesomework:
We did the 3 routes on Sunshine and then did 2 over on the Feathers. One of the funnest climbing adventures I've ever had. I'm going back this weekend, I allready went out today and bought the guide book.

Awesome, the GF and I are gonna get into the gym to take some classes soon.....soon.......soon....:corn:

Talked to a guy at work that's been out to Vantage, showed me some pics, looks like fun! :cheer:

Awesome dude! Looks like you guys tackled that route you were hovering over.:D

No, not yet. I might make you do it on wed though :D I need to work up to that route, it looks hard and scary. We did climb a 90 footer though, took 11 quick draws and the view was great. There's a crack climb we're gonna do next time we go, I've never done any of that before. If the weather is good on this side we can always go climb the "tunnel of Love", it's high up on my to-do list. I spent close to $500 bucks on climbing gear this week, lets go use it! :nana1:
