Walker Valley Jeep Cross excavation / reroute

I am 99% sure we have Ron (made the call today, and should get the confirmation tonight!!!), who is a licensed operator with many yrs exp...He is the guy we had for the learning center, as well as Humps & bumps...:awesomework:

It was kinda funny, I called his GF (wenchbitch on here), cause I didn't have his new number--told her about it, and she said just the other night they were talking about how he soooo wished there was somethin' goin' on at Walker he could help with!!!:awesomework: Talk about timing...:D

I asked about a 10k-12k with a thumb and the salesman said something about a 120 which is a bit bigger, he's going to call me back......I'm fairly sure we will get one if there's one available. Getting things cheap/ free means getting what's not rented out at the time. Beggers can't be choosers. If I do get one they will deliver it Friday which means I may have to camp/ babysit it over night as I don't want it vandalized.....IF this turns out to be the case who wants to camp?

:awesomework::awesomework: Well, we'll just put the largest machine we get on the trail, and use the other (s) for rock loading/unloading at the pit and the landing...Definitely keep us posted, and thanks!!! I'd be up for camping, except that means I'd have to drag my ass outta bed at 5:00 to get to work at 6:30 sat...:redneck: Plus I'd have to drag something to DD back and forth to said emplyment location!:haha:

So could a couple of us rent the machine through Sam and have @ least one machine locked down?

****!!! I'm sorry---Spoke with Alyse this afternoon....one is reserved thru DNR for delivery Friday; a 10.5K...Their rates are a little cheaper, and we also get credit hours for grants, etc going this route; basically DNR rents them on their acct, but we pay for it on Monday with a check:awesomework:...we may be reserving a second one (at least an 8K) tomorrow depending on donations...and DNR is on board with picking them up/dropping them off (saves us $$!!!:awesomework:)...

And sam and I did talk about it this afternoon as well---I did express appreciation for checking his leads out!!! Thanks lil man!!!:redneck:

Are they gonna be dropping em off at the landing or near? If they drop em off at the gate, I'd volunteer to walk one up to the landing/pit on friday.:awesomework:

Alyse will be picking up the machine(s) & taking it right to the work site (or at least to the intersection of the new road)...then she'll walk it up from there, but you can probably ride with her Friday into town if you wanted to, might get you the opportunity to walk it!:D)...

Another option is if everything works out right, we could have ~3-5 hours of rock moving time on friday night.

What news on the Bobcat? Will we have that avalible to try to get a little more of the smaller rock?

The Bobcat is just fine Jacob, apparently Don accidently hit the Aux Hydraulics lever, which diverts the flow from certain functions of the bucket!!!:haha::haha: I completely forgot about that function of the Cat in my dileriousness fron Sat & Alyse had to call me to let me know today!:redneck:

I'll be camping Friday night if others are up for it. THere is a good spot at the landing for a little campout

It sounds like things are working their way through, after talking to Elyse today we're sounding on board for the weekend.

One thing left. CULVERTS ... I hear someone has one (Bo or Devin?) that is 18". We still need two more 12" x 20ft culverts. Anyone have a good line on those?

Talked to Ron last night, and he's gonna be getting ahold of me today as soon as he talks to his boss (that's the 1% holding him back from 100% commitment!:D)...:awesomework:

Yah that'd be awesome. I plan to do a little campout on the landing :;

just an idea if anyone remembers please bring a grease gun.
the tracks on the excavators are tensioned with a grease gun if we are going to be using them up and down the hill a lot and moving them over rock and such it is possible that they will need to be tensioned......

i just got done replacing the drive sprocket on a 20k excavator today pulling the link pin and busting the track then putting the track back together sucks i would hate to have to do it in the woods
