Not sure how close it will actually be to that paint sketch, that is harder then you would think it should be :****:

The bars going from the bottom corner to the center of the harness bar will achieve nothing as far as strength goes. Now if you mount a bar from the top/corner of the b pillar to the center of the harness bar, those bars would tie it all together. Also anything you can do to give additional front to rear support to that harness bar will help. With it angled back & bent, if you landed hard on it vertically it would want to fold between there and the door bars

Something along these lines would work better? I guess I thought about doing it the other way as to support the middle of the roof bar.

I plan on running a couple more bars towards the rear, just really gotta sit in the back and kinda see where I can get them without smashing someones head if they are in the back.

Well...again not much of an update compared to most.

Finally found the last piece i needed to call it ready to ride, I'll be getting a few things done in the next couple days. Haven't done much since the last update, got a couple more bars in the cage, nothing major. Been busy with a scrambler and POS jetta that needed some work done.

These are the update tho

2x13 and 2x14 ranchos, remote resi rs9000, overkill for the bastard packs I made myself. For what I paid,I'm not complaining at all.I was only out 20 bucks more then buying a set of the cheapest shocks that would work for the waggy.

Got a few things done today, even tho its been pouring rain since yesterday morning.

At this point it's set at about 4.75" uptravel, with just a fuzz under 9" down. Shock is still the limiting factor right after the brake line Planning on re purposing some pathfinder rear bumps for my front and rear ones, and chain limiters for the time being.

Cut 4 shock tabs/gussets, 2 are still kinda rough, gotta clean then up still. Decided to go ahead and tie them into the knuckle.

Stuck the res up here, might make a little shield for these. I could have turned them around and had the res up near the booster, but it ran pretty close to the header doing so. Also this way, the cheap plastic knob for the rebound or dampening (not sure which havent really looked into it yet) is facing in. Still pretty easy to get to, and I won't have to ever worry about them.

Need to get a little bigger bolts, but the driver side is done minus a little plating on the inside of the mount. You can also see my "exhaust". I hate doing exhaust with a passion, so some small kick outs and call it good for now. Its not unbearable being a "full body", but definitely loud when the screamer gets up above 4k rpms.

Not off the top of my head. I actually have no idea, it didn't have a sticker on it.

I can ask my buddy that I got it from what it came off/part# . Might have been from a mid 90s z71 Tahoe tho, I know it was Chevy. I trimmed about 6 inches off the section that meets up with the rad, it kept going forward the way you see it.

Still running the 360 propane/ and a small shot of nos.... I was planning on changing to another power plant but this one just keeps on running.... I have it in the shop now removing about 20 more inches of the original frame and pushing the rear axle out four more inches. (see pic) I now have just 40 inches of waggy frame left. I keep sayng I am finished messing with this chassis but I just keep playing with it. Some habits are hard to kick. ;D Second pic is my 15 year old and his best buddy playing in the backyard..... Third Pic is where I started.....

I wish I coulda have kept the 360, the one in the other wag I had wouldn't give up for anything. It just kept on ticktickticking away for 30k, guy that has it now says its still going after another 40k and just keeps on tapping away.
It was holding water in 3 cylinders for longer then I could imagine. Has some serious cylinder wall issues and would take a good amount of bore to get it usable again....maybe one day

Got no complaints with the old stroker motor tho, runs great,pulls hard up past 5k ( Ive had it to 5600 before I got scared, still no valve float tho ) It smokes a little now and then, but from everything I can find out about it, it was built in 03' and only saw a hunting lease once a year, and was on boat launch duty the rest of the time. About 20k miles from what the guy said, but looking at the top end and into the exhaust ports it probably didn't even have that on it.

This is my buggy. It started out life as a 76 Cherokee. At the time the differences between a waggy and Cherokee was a Cherokee could be 2 door and a waggy was always 4 door. I'm also running a 360 on propane. Very simple and reliable that why its still there.

Not much to update. I been wheelin it when I can around the neighborhood, we got a few new state forest trails opened up recently so I have been exploring those. Its first trip out should be relativly soon, I traded around for a trailer but it needs a little work but it should hold the waggy and a set of spares just fine So Im still only into the rig for about 2k, and most of that was grinder wheels,welding wire, and the electrical stuff for the "harness". :****:

Couple things done since the last update. Ill snap some pictures of this stuff today and edit them in.

Got the rear shocks mounted. Made some knockoffs of the mounts ruffstuff makes to mount the shock eye the correct way behind the axle. These are what I was cutting when I ended up with the grinder wheel in my eyeball, maybe I should have just paid ruffstuff for a set

Ditched the hydroboost for now, Ill be going back sooner rather then later. I was having problems with the manifold on the master as well as the pump. Swapped a regular ps pump I had laying around, gonna cap the hydro boost stuff on the master and run it as manual brakes til I can get some parts for it.

List of **** to finish...

Wiring, mainly brake lights/reverse lights. Couple of relays for fans that I couldn't fit on my electrical board.

Reroute the rear brake line, its zip tied to the top of the frame now and I want to move it to the inside and use the factory waggy clips to hold it.

Plumb the remote oil filter/cooler, and some small stuff, roll over vent/axle vents things like that.

Reason I really made the update was for these tho. 5 new to me 38.5x16s TSL. Big thanks to ETO for holding on to these til I could get to atlanta to pick them up They are a little rough, but will work perfect for me. He even tossed in a set of tubes since one leaks a little from a plug

Upgradish from these 38" SX. cut to the cords and then some in a couple spots. All but 1 measure within 1" of each other so I should be able to rock these for spares, or combo tsl rear/sx front if I wanted.

Back from like page 4...again laughing1

Been tying up all the little loose ends that you never remember til after you think its done The following is in no real order,but most of it has happened in the last couple months besides a couple pics that will get moved back to earlier posts. Every time I go to load it up and take it to the local park I find something that needs to be finished, or I break something wheeling around the house.


Cleaning up the front bumper a little bit, chopped off the hard corner and plated it back to the frame.

Starting on the skid, gonna cover it with 1/4" and leave it be. Its close enough to flat...I have to rework this and the xmember at some point, so I just started throwing this together outta scrap/drops.

This is what the fenders ended up coming out like after the stretch, turns out that it wasn't quite big enough The SX on the stock waggy wheels would tuck inside the fenderwell...full rework before long,cause of the TSLs that are almost twice as wide.

Doing a little testing to see if my shock mounts came out right. I'm going to end up changing the frame side mounts to adjust the travel a little eventually, or buy longer shocks and strap them. It came out with a little more up travel then planned for( just cause there is 4.5" of shaft showing doesn't mean the tire moves that far : ) Ends up stuffing into the opening pretty hard only using 2" of the 4.5-5" of shaft showing.

This is using only maybe 1" up on the shock shaft Ill buy whoever can see what is wrong in this picture a beer eventually

early stage of the rear mounts, toooobe tie-ins to the frame, 1/4" plate "bridge" and tabs. Might make another brace that I can take out that runs to the cage.

I should put this in the "first rig, booty fab confessions" but....yea. I held off until the very end to make this dam thing, I never could find a 100% answer on needing it or not....turns out YES,YOU DO NEED A FRONT TRACK BAR ON LEAFS WITH NO HYDRO. 1.5" .188 wall stuffed with a solid piece of some track bar that was in my pile of steering parts, chopped the biggest ends I could find in the pile off and used them. Wrapped some half inch round bar around the ends and called it good.....til it isn't.
