Any news on the rad since thats the real last piece of the puzzel..

Last I recall, you were still going to get final measurements. I don't recall seeing those.

I also haven't had the PM with your address and phone number so that I can get the clutch parts shipped to you.
 
So I was able to chomp thru some more and I think it will all make sense for ya here dale :D

Mark and chop a section of tube out.

I like to do one at a time with just tack weld the parts in place. Once all for the needed tube is in place then I buzz each one in.

As suspected there was a little pulling/pushing on tube from the welding process--but very managble when installing/removing the assembly.

And now the motor can easily come out. The only thing I overlooked was the clearance on the bolt plate near the brake assembly. The tube itself easily comes in/out with the brakes in place but its very tight removing the brake booster.. I also got the down tubes/shock mounts bent up but I ran outa steel mix gas....
 
Ok got another chore for ya. I have looked and looked but its been hard to sit and look for a rad..

Here are the dimentions.

Width- I prefer 20" wide but we can go 22"
Height- I prefer 16" tall but we can squeeze 19". I am looking at removing the stock cross member under the rad and doing a custom one so we can play with how tall it is. But anything over 19" will just aim it closer to the front end.
Neck size--try to go with 1.75 but I am sure we will go with the same hoses we used on your runner since those seemed to work well and very versatile.

Neck location isn't really a big deal except we need the passenger side on the bottom and the drivers on top.

I have also looked for a new t-stat housing (single output) but I have not found a single thing for the 3.8. Yours (stock) has a neck on it for the upper rad hose and one for a heater hose. With the intake you have we can eliminate the neck from the t-stat and run it off the intake.

Are you talking about running the heater hose from the intake?

We can go both ways. If it goes off the intake we will need to plug the thermostat housing port. I have looked and looked for an aftermarket housing but I have found nothing...

The only number I have for him is no longer in service :(
I tried looking him up online and that number was out of service as well.

That's why I want him to PM his number to me. I need it to arrange shipping.

It's funny, just yesterday I started looking up the parts that he needed to get it finished up.
Tomorrow, I will be ordering the final parts so that the cage can be finished so that it can come home for some body work, new windshield frame, etc.

Are the parts still in production or do you have to wait for the swap meet :haha:
 
So, the last big piece. I found a NEW copper core radiator, 1 5/16" thick, 18 1/8" high by 20" wide. Upper inlet on left, lower outlet on right.

Will this fit the bill?

It's $300, which I think is a little high, but no shipping, sales tax etc...
