Whatever you do, get one with a MANUAL trans... the autos are unpolished turds...

And 4.0 or don't bother.... the 3.0 doens't get much better mileage, and you pay dearly in the power department.

BTW... a 5.0 weighs within spitting distance of the 2.3 4 cyl... so you could save money on a 4 cyl truck if you planned on going V8 in the future...

That was fast. I sold the Mazda today. The guy is picking it up Monday morning after swinging by the bank.

So.....I'm on the hunt for a white or black(prefered color) 2WD 5sp. v6 01-05 extended cab ranger. Let me know if any of you know of one. I'll be looking over the new year weekend.

Oh, so you're not gonna go with a twin I beam truck.

What do you have planned for the suspension setup?

As for suspension, depends on the truck. I'm going to look at a 99 Mazda, 95Ranger and a 01 Ranger tomorrow. Honestly if I were to go custom I wouldn't do twin I beam anyway. I'd rather have custom A arms. The only reason the twin is so popular is there's a low buck(if there's such a thing as low buck. lol.)class in racing, older trucks are cheaper and that's what they come with, and it's much easier than all custom.
