Thanks Pook, but it dosent really answer my question. Its great that you guys are building trails but are you doing it with the cooperation of the landowners or your equivelant of our forest service. From what I have heard Canadas land and water use laws are even stricter than our are down here:booo:

The government probably owns 90% of this province... its all pretty much government land, you can drive out there for months and not hit a town.

The government knows we are out there they pretty much just haven't stopped us yet. Know one really knows whats going to happen when they do approach the issue.

Biggest thing going for us, is that we have a right to be out there.

And since we now we need to be careful most new trails getting built now are away from any water...

Do yo kow the laws of Canada Ty ? This is exactly why I am asking these questions. There used to be a large event on Vancouver Island a few years back. It was closed down the same way the enviromenl nazis do it here by forcing the govt to applie the laws on the books. Shame to it was a fun event. Got to go once and then no more:booo:

The island has its own issues, a bunch of land there was private as well as government.

Look at BC on google earth... all that green and mountains is goverment land, no way in hell could they police it all.

When we cross the boader we tell them where we are going what we are doing. They don't seem to have a problem with it.
Got checked pretty good comming back this time. Had to drive through the X-Ray machine or what ever the hell that thing is.:D

Great pics guys. I should have my junk all buttoned up for the next Canada trip.

Being a Canadian citizen myself I have spent the last year looking for employment up there and seriously considering moving back. I'm a wheeler. If you were a professional surfer would you live in Montana? Same applies to me. Washington state is a crappy place to live if you have two lockers and 35 inch plus tires.

When you wheel almost every weekend Evans, Elbe, Tahuya and the forest service roads they call trails on the east side simply don't cut it. I want what I see in these pics to be an hour or two from where I live and work. Lately I find myself more and more willing to make such a big move.

Canada seems to have a different take on law enforcement than we do- they go after CRIMINALS up there. The USFS and DNR has no jurisdiction in Canada and I don't think we need to assimilate them with our beauracratic BS.

They also have enough land up there that every spec of dirt and drop of water isn't being looked at through a microscope. In the big picture of Canadian wilderness a couple trails with a little water nearby is insignificant. Now lets shut our noise holes and mabey it can stay that way for a while.

I seen one of you guys headed north on I5 when I was coming home from this on Baker on Friday around 2:30. Looks like a nice run. I would like to go sometime. :awesomework:

We call the government land "CROWN land" Its our playground :cheer:

That is a very smart move with staying outta the water.

Our solicitor general said it best the other day while discussing the recent fatalities of the "extreme" snowmobilers that died & ignored avalanche warnings.

"Its their choice to go out into the back-country, its their risk, we cant do anything about it" :;

Its such a VAST province, & the outdoor recreation is the biggest draw to this province, I cant see them taking it away. There would be a huge uproar from recreationalists. (<- if thats a word)

Look at Canada on google earth. It looks like a huge checker board from all the clearcuts.

These wheelers are wheeling on a seasonal creek that looks to have a bed rock base, they are not stiring up hardly any sediments. It also appears that this creek has enough riff raff that any of the sediment that was stirred up, would be trapped in the creek bed. If you look at a whole, the effect of these wheelers on the whole ecosystem in this area is tiny compared to other human presences such as roads, logging, residental, storm damage, etc. [I'm going to school for Forest Resources, these are the things that I look at]

Pokey, I know your trying to fight the "good" fight. But now, I will no longer get to see pictures of actual hardcore, enviromentally friendly wheeling. Thank you.

The same thing could be said about here in the US and it didn't get us anywhere either. Trying to apply logic to the thought process of a greenie will never get you anywhere.

Exactly, they don't look at the science nor logical aspect of things. Thier way is the only way in thier eyes, but us wheelers also have a right to enjoy this state/country/world. They don't understand that wheeling is just a small, tiny, miniscule factor in a watershed/ecosystem/biosystem. I would be willing to put money on it that there is more sediment runoff in this state from hiking trails than all of our ORV parks. Not to mention one housing development cut into the side of a hill.

I can see what Pokey is poking at. :)flipoff:) but in this case, I don't think that this is the case.

Bullshit Rick. His mind in NOT in the right place. And I will continue (and encourage others) to post our wheeling pics on this public forum.

From what I read Jim has brought to light the possibility what COULD happen while on one of these wheeling trips. If you guys haven't thought about that then you're being fools.....Post all the pics you want but don't think for a minute that they do no harm.
One day I'll have to go so you can post pics of me being the "bad guy".:haha:

I wanna go to Rick so save me a seat. I dont think my poor little heep would cut it:haha:. Its cool if they want to bash me for pointing out the obvious to them. They dont have any real anwser for the question so it lets all shoot the mesenger time. Just take a look at chops posts for instance nothing to do with the question at hand just more of the same old retoric  My fire suit was on the moment I posted anyway:cool:
