buggy idea possible build maybe???

Re:

There used to be a buggy around nc with 4.0l, tf999, d300, fj80s, 37 reds. It did really well and was pretty dependable.

If wanting to run a d44 setup, I would stay as light as possible and not over 38" tires. And then I would build the axles.

If I remember, I wheeled with a buggy a few times years back with a Jeep 4cyl, yota trans, dual cases, d44s with 39 boggers. It did really well but was really light weight and occasionally broke axles. I heard he went to tons and it didn't perform anywhere as good

I've got 4.2 with 4.0 head and hessco can,t 18 and d300 case. Dana 60 and dana 70 ,14 inch coilovers all in 2 seater tube chassis. and weighs in at 3300 pounds with my 160 pounds and fuel. Pretty much unbreakable .

One of 35xj's original buggies. Its original form was D44 built, Toy IFS rear axle and TJ springs with white shocks on 37 blue labels. It was sold to Vanguard who got out of wheelin when his business went big. While in his hands it got built FJ80's, Air shocks and 37 Treps. Its now up in Elkin with a buddy of mine. Gets wheeled and beat on properly. And yes, stupid reliable.

I've been looking at 4 cylinder stuff the past couple days and for what i want to do i think a little turbo 4 banger might work. Hell we will call this buggy the Flea ripoff haha. Keep it real light that way and a toyota trans maybe an atlas. I think that's what I'll do is start gathering parts for it. this is going to be a slow build though. Being a single guy with a house payment and going to school full time gets into the pocket book a little bit.

x2 some people are too skeered to try anything ford :****: I'm thinking about trying to do a kid based buggy and I've got a. 79 pace car carbed turbo setup that will be so damn easy to mill the head and put the propane on it

I've been thinking of building a single seater buggy for my daughter. However I was thinking about using a ford escort 2.0 dohc automatic with a NP205 and HP44/9 stuffed with 5.38/5.43. It's 110 horsepower stock but has good aftermarket support and can rev high RPM. The trans has a 1st gear of 2.8 to 1 with a final drive of 3.74 which will give me 10.74 then coupled with the 205 tcase and the gears will give her a crawl ratio of 114. I was thinking of 39 krawlers. So what do you guy's think would this work?

A few years ago there was a video going around youtube i think Cole shot it but it was a kid in a rear engine honda buggy on like 33's crawling all over Morris Mtn. Pretty bad ass little rig.
