Looking at extinguishers for the buggy. I like these aluminum ones I see for about 65 with a pin quick release. They look easier to access than the velcrow but do they rattle?

So the question is what do you use? And how do you like it?

bought 2 coldfire extinguishers for the buggy and they gave me a little discount beause of hardline :dblthumb:

pretty sure I got a 2 liter and 1 liter

I like the style that use the pull pin

I have had a couple that stuck with the detent ball style. I've actually had to air hammer one pin out when we got back to the shop. They also take 2 hands.

go down a couple pages to Jan 2014, and watch the video of the one handed mount. Mine has been upside down off viagra, through KOH 3 times, on 6 of our rzr's that race short course and everywhere else. My old partner still has Atomic and makes them.
I am also working on a billet alum variant of the one handed pull pin style.

I use PRP's with velcro. I like them but you need a straight bar to mount them on. If its curved it will not work well. Once tight, mine has not moved the entire race season. The velcro will never be as fast as a single pin.

Last time I was on fire, I was panicked trying to get out. It was behind me, grabbing the extinguisher was not on my mind. Put one on the outside also so you can save the buggy AFTER you get out. 2 fires I've seen and helped to put out were behind the passengers, so putting them out from the cab was not even an option.

I'd love to see more people use that fire sleeve or it's equivalent on their fuel and transmission lines, it's expensive as hell but would prevent a ton of fires and/or keep them from being much worse

It seems like most rollover fires are transmission fluid related. I'm sure each situation varies greatly, but locking dipsticks , cooler line mounting/ routing and fire sleeve would be good insurance. Keeping transmission fluid away from headers should be a priority.

I was actually looking at it on summit a few days ago and the price was so outrageous that I kinda put it on the back burner. Your post got me thinking about it again so I did some searching and found a link to a place on pirate. You have to log in to see pricing but they are super cheap. $3 per foot compared to $10 per foot on summit.
