Re: Matt O's Buggy Updates & Essentially Offroad KOH Rebuild & Prep
This thread hasn't been updated in a while, I have been slowly working towards getting the buggy ready to race KOH/Ultra 4 Type Racing again. After racing in KOH '09 there were a lot of things that could be improved to make the buggy more competitive. It has been a slow process, but most of the mods I have made in the past 1.5 years were geared around Ultra 4 Type Racing. I am pretty pleased with the changes, the car feels more balanced and seems to work well considering what I am working with suspension wise. I feel like I the biggest upgrades include being more prepared. We have more fuel capacity now, more tools/parts, and Daniel and I both have KOH experience. I am a broken record I know, but without the help of Jimmy Penner and the crew at Essentially Offroad I wouldn't be able to do this. The car needed some things changed and I couldn't get it to EOR until 2 weeks ago. Jimmy was slammed but he made sure it was done and he made sure it was ready by the 2 week deadline I had. If you have dealt with EOR before then you know what I am talking about, if you haven't then you are missing out. Thanks to Daniel Parker, Cole Shirley & Adam Adair also. From getting me parts at a discount and helping with just about everything including a full day of prep, to letting me borrow tires/wheels off their rig, and for a sweet enclosed trailer on loan! They have all helped out and lent me a hand in some way and it is much appreciated. Should be a good trip to Missouri, I believe there will be coverage on Pirate 4x4 of the race Saturday if anyone wants to watch. Hopefully we can qualify for KOH '11.
Anyway here are some pics. 1st is on the way to EOR.
