I have been thinking of picking one of these up to use as a beater so I'll be watching this thread!

You're also going to have to tell us more about that Subaru!

:haha: Nice score Scott...:awesomework:

About time you came over to the dark side Scott. :cheer:

thanks, I got it down off Widbey Island a tree had fallen on the rear section, the guy had pushed the roof back up and installed a good rear passenger window, the Jeep cost me $700 its a good driver, no issues driving it home, CD player works, that 4.0 has good power , I wanted something I didnt need to do any major work to like a bad trans or engine issues, the dents are OK I just call them clearence modifications

got this winch thats goin on, will need a fairlead for it

plan to run a few bars over the top , not a full exo-cage just in case I put it on the side or roll it, I dont want to add alot of weight but want to save me and the windsheild if I roll

heres me with the subaru out with some cherokees, they made things look easy on the trail were I had a hard time, then I broke pretty good were they crawled threw, I knew it was time to move onto a streight axle rig

I assumed I had a dana 35 rearend , after looking and comparing looks like a Chrysler 8.25

so rearend experts Ill be running 33 -35 tires should I weld it up? buy a Sparton Locker, throw it out, get a ford 8.8 ? being a 92 would it be a 27 spline? or a 29? school me as Im a Subaru Guy

looking for some parts

passenger mirror, rear seat rear section maybe starter sometimes it just clicks when cold but always works, rear taillights, rear hatch struts,

If its the 27 spline, older model one, i would throw an 8.8 in the jeep. not much work for one of those plus you get disc brakes and stronger axle. If its the 29 spline, throw a spartan in it and run the biotch. Looks good, if you have any cherokee questions for me just ask :awesomework:

made a deal to get a explorer ford 8.8 rear, it has a 4.10 Limited slip, will be getting the u bolts too and the driveline u-joint flange, it there a way to tighten up that Limited slip?, I also have the 4.10s and a carrier for the front, HELP KEV!

progress

Chrysler 8.25 or Dana 35 ?

Chrysler 8.25, you can tell by the little lip below the diff cover that sticks down and is flat on the bottom. It will be C-clip and most likely 27 spline. If you were able to find a set of 29 spline shafts, you could buy a 29 spline locker and install it in place of the 27 spline spider gears, and you'd be good to go. However, it sounds like you have yourself an 8.8 already so I'd go that route.

if you play your cards right you can get them nice and tight... mine hooks very well with 33"s:awesomework:

got it all lifted,

had read somewhere that grand cherokee tierods and steeering box arm will bolt up and are stronger, true? will then trak bar also bolt right up?

so what would it take to tighten that 8.8?

well i started by grabbing these.

then I took the info that i found on this web site and went to town.

pritty much just change the order and stack them in tight. and the rest is history. although it may wear faster, the enitial result is great. ask kevin he has seen mine work.:awesomework::beer::corn:

Yes you can do what oil can detailed. Those carriers are not very nice though, just a heads up. Oh and throw up more picks :awesomework:

trimmed out the fenders

they are shown in backwards order, just click on them for larger
