Well I'm already well on my way with this build but it's gonna be an ongoing project.

Picked up a sleeper from a 379 Pete in Kentucky really close to rush offroad park. Gave 400$ for it.

Got it home and gave it a good cleaning and removed some brackets and crap.

Had some interior removed but it was all there so I put all the cabinets back up, ripped the carpet out, and cleaned the trucker stank out of it.

Put a little hand scraped hardwood in it. As well as a new air mattress.

Picked up an awning from a buddy.

Took the cab extensions off, built a custom door, hung some led lights inside and mounted that bitch on the trailer.

Ready for fall crawl.

It's pointed the wrong way.
Looks good I almost picked up a sleeper this summer, but I wanted bunks.

Can't turn it the other way the way my trailer is built. The upright for the gooseneck Is in the way. I figured I would build some sort of air dam on top of the gooseneck.

Re:

My buddy has a set up like that and it works great. I'd like to do the same but pulling it with a 1/2 ton wouldn't be much fun like that. I even have a guy willing to give me a sleeper.

I've been contemplating framing up something out of wood about the same size on the front of my bumper pull trailer that could easily be removable. My trailer needs to be just a tad longer to still proportion the weight of my rig correctly, so I would probably relocate the tool box that's on my trailer tongue and build the "sleeper box" to hang over the front of the trailer a couple feet. I like the retractable awning idea too!

Is this something you will wire with power (outlets, lights, etc?)

Basically I would love to have a fully furnished slide in truck camper, but ****, a nice one is fawking high! It's either just save money for an enclosed one day or build some sort of sleeper box with a cot in it and enough room for permanently storing camping supplies and of course, weatherproof.

Enclosed would be nice, but I'm afraid I'd end up having to buy a new tow rig then too, ole 6.0 gasser be straining to pull a 24 foot enclosed with my rig and a bunch of camping junk/tools/cabinets, and other junk inside. I don't need a whole lot, just a roomy dry spot to sleep and get ready in the next morning.

Ya I figured I would wire it up for a 30 amp rv service and put a rooftop heat/air on it and hang a 32" flatscreen on the wall inside lol. I want to do it dual power 12/110 volt just like an rv or camper.

I've got a friend that put two sleepers together. He has a living room and a bed room. It's actually a pretty neat set up.

I would love to see you build something like this. Bahahaha. We would have to start an epic fail thread.

Thats funny, I mentioned that to the wife the other day since I have a little extra room on the trailer with the rig on there. I mentioned getting another one identical to it and putting them back to back and grafting them together and making a living room out of it. If I could find another for what I paid for that one I would consider it. I may be making it difficult to remove then though. As of now I load and unload it with a set of fork on my Kubota tractor. I use that same trailer for everything. I use it for hauling hay, scrap, stone, equipment, and anything else that won't fit on one of my smaller trailers.
