... This will be a SLOW project as he has no money :)

So my wifes father hauled this 1973 Chevy 3/4 ton Camper Special up here from San Diego for my sons first truck...

So I have been really busy lately, and he hasn't had any money or parts, but he did finally talk me out of my leather wrapped Grant steering wheel in trade for the shitty lumber rack that was on the truck.. great deal for me... :haha:

Oh well....

So tonight was the first father / son project and we got the steering wheel put on for him...

Tomorrow or Sunday we might try to work in some time to work on the brakes... Not sure if they need bled, need pads replaced, or if it needs a new master cyl or power booster, but it doesn't have **** for brakes right now and the big BRAKE light on the dash is on...

And after that, we will drive it to the tire store and get the new/used treads put on :D

Every highschool kid needs a 3/4 ton Chevy on 35's... right????

Well, he isn't going to go wheel this truck... otherwise it won't be his anymore.
I have no problem helping him fix it and showing him how to do things, but I am not going to buy all of the stuff for it. Some of it, no biggie... and he can ask for things like a fender for gifts now! He will be easy to shop for for the rest of his life. :redneck:

Mine was a 73 Camaro rally sport. Had a 375 hp Corvette engine my dad gave me and a rock crusher 4 speed.

I may be spoiled....but I cant remember the last time I did a dis/mount tire job by hand.... Good thing to learn though :awesomework:

nice work pooh's son!!! that is not fun work but like mentioned is a good thing to know for when needed. Really makes the truck look badass. Not too many of those running around in good shape anymore. Nice start to a cool project.:awesomework::masturbanana[1]:

So it was just like every other Camaro ... A stock 305 with some headers, chrome valve covers, and glass packs?:fawkdancesmiley:

FIFY... You ever notice that every s-10 and every other yota v-8 swap has a vette 327 or 350? My 7 year old daughter wants my old 69' ford for her first ride. Says she wants to learn how to fix trucks first. Not just tear them up and trash them like dad. Cool deal guy. Have fun with it.

Well, it has been cold outside... and since I don't have a garage, not much has been done on the kids truck for a few months other than flushing the cooling system and adding some antifreeze (since those silly California people just use water)

... today was learn how to bench bleed and install a master cyl day... after I made him to to the parts store and buy the master cyl with his own money...

I did buy the brake fluid for him :flipoff:
