Hey putz... he doesn't have a manual anymore.. He swapped in an auto to run much faster :fawkdancesmiley: Plus he launched in 3rd gear to do it.. You aint gunna be doing that at the stop light next to that shiny vette. But you can with an auto :flipoff:

I was just thinking that, because I have, that launching in 3rd is way cooler than having to start in 2nd everytime, as you do with a gasser.
The first time it surprised me that the truck even moved without lurching. Try that in your gas powered slug!

It's more then 2 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile :fawkdancesmiley: ..
And if you're doing 3rd gear launches with an FE.. you'll be buying another clutch before I even get a replacement..

It runs a 14 flat with a manual tranny. It isnt that fast really just giving my friend odie ****. It is fast for a 8k pounder on 35s.

just to give ya an idea on how much slower a 5 speed is then an auto.. MikeR ran 13.99 (launching in 2nd) with over 600 hp on 265/75/16 tires.. He's run many many times with a manual truck is very quick rowing through the gears.. MikeG. ran the same time with 400 hp and an auto. And it was his first time ever down the track, and didn't even know how to launch.
