Glad to see some trappers I'm thinkin bout getting into because it's seems to be a lost trade and I hate yotes can y'all guys give any adobe on starter traps and tips please
You are right on the lost art I do only mountain trapping because I am too far from a good water source. I use dirt hole and mound sets the best for the coyotes I have found is the throw away parts of a deer wrapped in chain link fence you will thin the population fast with this you will also catch everything else also, there are some books on fur handling that will help you on the way to turn the fur and what size to strech it good luck and check this bobcat I caught by the sack and then had to turn loose years ago when KY had a funny season with them and was not leagle to trap that was a trip I won't forget season has been changed now

Now that's an example of "had him by the nuts!" Holy crap! Definitely a cool animal though.

Buddy of mine caught one live one time in a cage. Mean ass suckers. The one in the picture looks like he wants you to pet him ;D ;D

That one got to run off but these didn't and I can pet these LOL thanks guys it is a big reward to get something so smart to put there foot in a 2" area

Re:

Good looking cats.

I used to trap a lot back in highschool. Planning to get back into it. I lent all my foot traps to a buddy last year

Nah, he's saying "Mister, please get this thing off my nutsack.....". molaugh

I had a heavy coat and welding gloves along with that plywood with a mouse hole at the bottom and I was not comfortable at all trying to get him loose it was unbelievable how loud he could be and the tone in his growl LOL he was not a happy camper

I buy from Hoosier trappers supply and I like victor and duke traps in #2 double coil offset jaw or regular jaw but forsure on the double coil, as for bait I buy jack mackerel form the store and also use some predator lure with it

My wife's first crossbow kill ever :dblthumb:

They stayed on private land the entire day. Watched him for 12 hours, wind will be hitting him from different direction tomorrow. Hope he moves if not he is untouchable. He is 300 yards off the road. Got as close as I could legally at 600 yards. If he would had jumped a 400 to 260 yard shot depending on where I could had shot.

Shot this smooth head last night at 40yards, first year using rage slip cams and it tore a big ol hole through this doe with a pass through

My wife's 2nd kill of the year :dblthumb:
