Boot Thread

Seems to be a few new threads about wearing stuff out and I am getting the hankering to buy a new pair of boots so I wanted to get some ideas. I have a serious problem with buying boots, I seriously buy 2 or 3 pair a year. I literally wear boots everyday to every event except to the gym. I stick to mainly cowboy boots and wear them til I can feel the rocks under my feet but pretty much have a pair of everything from hunting boots to steel toe safety boots. What are you guys wearing? Anybody got some cool exotics they love (or hate)? A special brand?

Old standby pair. Twisted X bull hide rubber sole square toe. These were made in China but I have a pair I bought 5 years ago that were made in Mexico that I still wear, they are just beat to crap! I hate the Orange but I had to get that color to get this style boot.

A buddy of mine wears kangaroo hide boots. He swears by them though i don't recall the brand.

I had a pair of Double H and felt like i was standing on little clouds of air, I loved them but they only lasted 6 months. They actually melted to a Bobcat we were standing on to offset the heavy load up front and I jumped off and landed on hot asphalt with nothing on the soul of my foot. While completely my fault I have a bad taste from double h boots.

I really love the Ariat Rambler...except they don't love me ??? Or at least until I find a EE to try on for my goofy, wide feet. On a whim I tried the Ariat Sierra work boot and it felt really nice. They had a nice sole on them too...I'm about to pull the trigger on those but want to try a wide size first... Except the pic shows rounded toe, I tried a square toe (I cant wear round or pointy boots)

I have a pair of Ariat Ramblers I have been wearing for about 2 years now. Every day in the winter months and every time I don't have on shorts. They are holding up great and are a comfortable boot.

You should sell them to me and buy a new pair :****: - If I could get through the break in period, I bet a D width could probably work for me...

Ariats FTW! Have a pair of the Square toe Rambler for wearing out anywhere besides work and I wear Steel Toe Ariats at work, love them!

When it comes to work boots I've been stuck on Carolinas for the past 5 years. Maybe I've just gotten lucky that they fit me just right but it doesn't even seem as if they have a break in period. Once the weather gets cold I pretty much wear my Muck Wetlands boots all the time if I'm outside much. I've fought having cold feet my entirely life and tried every sock/boot combination I could find and then last year I bought these and I will own a pair till the day I die, or at least long as I continue to work outside/ hunt / wheel in cold weather.

I have a pair of the Double H steel toes for going out cause they are still pretty. For work I rotate a pair of lace up red wings (awesome boots) and a pair of the Justin slip on- horrible boots.

Had a pair of Rockies work boots. Wore the for 9 years almost everyday. Now I have a pair of double H comfy but not like the Rockies were

I have 3 pairs of Ariats, 2 pairs of Rockys, 2 pairs of DoubleH, 2 pairs of Durango Rebels, and 1 pair of Corrals. (Yes I'm worse than a woman with boots, but they're pretty much the only type of shoes I put on my feet.) Luckily we have an awesome store here that sells close out and factory defect, and also used shoes. That's where most of my boots come from. I've never paid more that $90 for a pair of boots there and they were in like new condition.

Some of those are work boots, some are nicer boots. I just throw a pair on based on my mood and what I'm wearing. If I ranked them in comfort it would be Ariat, Durango, Double H, Rocky, and then Corral. It's so close it's hard to pick though.

At work we're not allowed to wear slip on boots because some idiot twisted their ankle in slip on boots 20 years ago and my company is the king of "blanket" safety policies. They provide our boots though and I usually get 2 pair per year. I go back and forth between Timberland Pros and Keens. The Timberlands are a little more comfortable, but the soles don't hold up as good. My last pair the sole split all the way across right under the balls of my feet. A lot of that may have to do with the fact that I work in a chemical plant. Stuff just deteriorates the soles.

For work I have the Durango Rebel waterproof steel toes. They were the only steel toes I found that fit my foot well towards the toe. They are a square toe. Also, they aren't bulky like most steel toes are. Other than the weight, they are comfortable boots. I don't wear them unless I am on site somewhere though.

****, with them boots, who needs a pickup line...I would put those on, head down to the bar, sit down, put both feet up on a table and wave over every chicky that struts by!

I bought a pair of Iron Age work boots 2 years ago. Comfy, warm, durable, but Jesus H. Christ they are heavy. Also recently developed a squeak I am not fond of. I think I'm gonna cheat on the next pair. Work says we have to have steel toe, high ankle boots, but I'm gonna grab a pair of Duluth Trading Co. Mocs. They look comfy, and certainly look the part...
