SFWDA

That's something I could get on board with, TWRA has thousands of acres of Wildlife Managament Area that most of the officers would just as soon close off recreational access to. More areas should be open to non-hunting recreational activity like the North Cumberland/Royal Blue.

This gives me enough answers about the money going 100% back to the wheelers and parks. I still feel they are inadequate in many areas, but that's fixable. I am satisfied with the answers given.

Where is all those haters at? :dunno: I feel like they have gave good answers to your questions  I'm not gonna lie they make me want to support them :****:

Still here. Still a hater. I got a PM from a board member. Just haven't had time to chime in on it all. My position hasn't changed, but glad they think they are doing a great job.

I keep getting asked for feedback, I'm not going to put a lot of thought into it but if you want a place to start, how about posting your books for the past few years. I'm assuming the org is an official not for profit. I would think you would want to show people how their money is spent with actual figures not just words on a screen and pats on the back. I always hear from Southern about how they have helped with project A and project B but then I hear conflicting stories about how you guys stamp your name on things but the money never shows up.

Officially sfwda does not have any involvement in the bathhouse at aop. However the majority of the people that donated money for the bathhouse were sfwda members. I approached Tom several times to take a grant for the bathhouse but Tom has said more than once he would rather use a grant for trail 1. There is grant money available for projects if you just take the time to fill out the application. As far as our Financials if you would come to the December meeting you would see a breakdown of all the money taken in and where it goes. You seem to have your mind made up about southern and if you try hard enough I'm sure you can find something negative about everything and everyone. I encourage you to start looking at the positive things in southern and in everyday life. You are right we were unable to keep Tellico open but on a positive note we were the only club trying.as for the future I'll give you this update the land deal in coalmont is now a reality sfwda has put up $100000 worth of labor to help fund the project. Do you know of any other club around that is willing to do that?

I have a list of all the names that donated for the bathhouse I wonder if I looked if I would see any of the haters names on this list?

How does that list have anything to do with southern?

Ok so I really don't care about sfwda because I know nothing about it and have never been to a Dixie run. From my position I am wondering about the finances myself now. You have been asked multiple times to prove your doing good things and just keep blurting out things you have done or numbers. Without 100k being itemized you could have paid 10 people 100 dollars an hour to come drink beer and ride around. If that "labor" includes travel room and board etc that would not be just labor. I didn't even start reading this thread till it got to 3 pages because like I said I didn't care. Now that sfwda has the opportunity to draw in people like me I would assume they would do a better job convincing random people they do good work?

When is the new bathhouse being built? Also I knew nothing of it. I would have donated in a second to it.

And for the record sfwda has not claimed to have built the bathhouse

As a board member of southern and one of the masterminds behind the new bathroom at aop.

Isnt that two contradicting points right there?

This fundraiser was an individual effort and not affiliated with any group or members of any group, period.

That's all I have to say.

Furthermore. I'm aware that nobody is claiming Southern was responsible for the bathhouse. I just want to make sure there is absolutely 0 confusion.

Sounds like your just trying to throw SFWDA's name in the mix and ride the coattail of a group of INDIVIDUALS who actually did a very positive thing for AOP and the wheeling community. Wonder if this is the norm for SFWDA? hmm....

I've spent plenty of time helping a local park get ready for events. I also pick up trash all the time when I'm on the trail, no matter where I am. I'd say that adds up to easily $100,000 per year in labor. Can I write that off on my taxes?

Ok, enough of this horseshit.

Somehow this thread about SFWDA turned into a discussion about the bathhouse, who was the mastermind, and there might be some confusion about whether SFWDA or any other club was involved in this. I'll provide some very clear facts and for every single one of these facts I will gladly provide a screenshot with proof. Hold my beer.

1) Pete, another person, and myself discussed the fact that Tom needed a bathhouse built. Tom was not aware of this fundraiser in any way shape or form. This fundraiser was originally Pete's idea I will gladly give him that and he did a great job helping to promote this. This was a GROUP EFFORT without involving any organization or club, if I remember Pete, that was kind of the point....wasn't it?

2) @Pete, you claim that SFWDA's members were the majority of the people that donated and I don't appreciate the fact that you are trying to correlate SFWDA with that. I have the entire list of who donated because I'm the run who ran the Paypal, I'm the one that did the posts, I'm the one that held everyone's money and I'm the one that answered countless question. The ONLY club that donated as a group was Jeeps and Wrenches and they came through big with a $1,000 donation, another $1000 donation came from Tom's personal friend from out of town and quite a few other big donations were from non-SFWDA members that don't even own rigs. Also, quite a few small donations were just your normal average joe wheelers. Please do not correlate this fundraiser with Southern. Don't do that.

3) As the one who ran the account and promoted this, I will tell you again, very, very, very clearly this fundraiser was NOT in any way, shape, or form correlated with SFWDA.. This was a group effort among a group of friends who love AOP and knew that Tom deserved something for all the work he has done without all the paperwork, grant applications, or other horseshit involved.

4) I'm sure SFWDA adds value to the community in some way, shape, or form. But they were not involved in this fundraiser, PERIOD.

If you want to argue any of the above with me I'll gladly provide screenshots.

Don't worry. I'll wait.

Thank you Alex. I think it is clear to everyone with a brain what Pete here was trying to do before he walked it back. That was to tie Southern's name to the AOP bathhouse project. Random uninformed hardline member reads this thread I guarantee you there were thinking SFWDA had a hand in that until the record was set straight. He also claimed in a PM to me he was the guy responsible for raising the money when in fact my personal friend (BLT94YJ) was the guy that raised the money. I can provide you a screen shot of his bank account and paypal if you want. And this is all coming from a SFWDA board member that wants us to donate to them :rolf:

So FYI, that is their M.O. They have been conducting business this way since I've had interaction with them going back to the early 2000s.

This is what I'm talking about. Do you guys have a handbook with these types of responses or something? Like I said, you could copy paste replies like this from the Pirate Tellico board. Ask for financials, they tell you to come to their meetings. Last I checked, SFWDA is the org with their hands out. You need my money, I don't need you. Show me how it will be spent. Then, after being told to come to meetings, you get a bunch of yadda yadda about all the projects they have accomplished, big numbers are thrown around and there's lots of back slapping. I never see any real backup. If I donate $100 what goes to land use, what goes to labor, whatgoes to the BRC, what goes to actual structures built...etc etc etc. These are fair questions.

While we're at it, I know there was a whole lot of money donated during the Tellico fight. I asked over and over again how it was being spent, you can probably search my screen name on Pirate and find it. Post the financials from that period so we can see how it was all spent. Surely you guys keep good records, being a non profit and all. Hell I shouldn't have to ask, this type of info should be on the website, readily accessible for prospective members.
