Dynamite Design - AC / 2xRT

I can answer that one,the intent was to be an Ultra 4 car.

I was curious, due to the mention of a "trophy truck" at the start of the thread (see quote below). Figured that might aid in covering up some of the tube work...

It's been a wild, and crazy long year in Lexington NC.

We've put months in, outfitting the new shop and gearing up for this specific job.

We're going to build Adam Carter a Trophy Truck.

Dynamite Design Fabrication - Rock Racing Trophy Truck = 2xRT / serial number #001

The chassis does not look very much like the drawings on page one. There were a lot of straight tubes and triangulation in the drawings. I actually liked the look of the drawings.
The chassis as it set had a bunch more bends in it. It is hard to tell by the pics but the front of the chassis from the dash forward looks unsupported.

I have to finish mount the shocks close to perpendicular with the trailing arms @ static ride height , and inside at the chassis.

The top of the buggy is 74 inches, with 18 - 19 inch ground clearance. with 37's

The caster has been set at 10.5 in mock up, but now that I have found the pinion angle, I need to break the tacks and turn them before I weld them on.

The seats are very tall with deep buckets. My head doesn't reach the top of the seat. Although they are not welded in, I will make sure they are mounted correctly with plenty of room.

I leaned the seats back 8 degree's, so the knee's can bend closer to 90, more like sitting in an office chair. This will keep the feet low and / while using a gas pedal with a bottom side fulcrum for comfort. Also allowing the headers to wrap up, and out to an exhaust pipe.

I agree!

I found the inspiration for the engine and seating position.

Do you have that quote from JohnG in your signature to remind you of what not to be?

Right now you look like nothing more than 747 with pretty welds. Perhaps you should look into the tire business.

^^^ not exactly a compliment or signature worthy quote molaugh

You go about things in ways that don't really make a lot of sense.

Boss man said he's just not feeling it.
Said he's coming to collect his stuff, with no hard feelings.

Same for me.... If I couldn't seal this deal - the race car deal.... Then, I'm missing something bigger than I thought.

If there's no racing involved anymore, then I'm just grinding metal, and getting COPD or something.

I'm done....

But I'm not a sore loser.
Reckon I'll spend some time gathering better equipment, and hopefully more wisdom,
and come back in 4 years when I'm 30 years old.

Had a blast - It's been real, Hardline

This is Dynamite Disaster - over and out

The engine and seating position were great. Hell, I'd drive it.... And get the fastest laps too.... :****:

over and out, again....

I think you need to spend more time under the brains of people like the folks you've worked for in the past. You have a lot of potential in fabrication, just not with managing direction of projects. It's no easy task, that's why there's only a handful of people doing it on a professional level.

Damn I think if I wanted to become a "race car builder" I'd have put together a couple east coast Bombers and made a name for myself building and tuning race cars, winning, and supporting winning teams.

Save the modern art metal excercise for some other time and place

Hate it man. Was hoping you could pull it out.

As far as constructive criticism goes I would say everybody has been fair and unbiased. You have a lot of people on here wanting to see you build and succeed. IMHO , which don't mean nothing, if you just scaled back a little and took on less ambitious projects you could be one of the few who do it on a professional level and succeed. Either way man keep posting. Show off that **** weld. Post up finished builds.
Just so there is no confusion I'm being serious. No middle finger bull****.

Damn, I'm going to have to go to the book store and buy a book to read now, won't have nothin to do after work!
