• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

Another lil something.....

They need a vent to work. It's easy to push hot fluid out since it's getting passed a cap with 13-16 lbs of pressure but it doesn't draw that much vacuum to suck the coolant back in without a vent.

I tried feeding it in the bottom and using the top as a vent. Still did not work. Also tried drilling out the vent hole.

Did ya replace your rad cap?

Brand new. Now with a regular old universal from napa everything works as it should. Ugly, but functional.

Hell, I used a 24oz coors can with a piece of hose dropped in it for years on my buggy. The Napa unit is an upgrade. :redneck:

I went ahead and pulled the radiator for a couple reasons.

I didn't like how the foam for the radiator was done and plus one whole edge was out of place and the rad was sitting on metal. So that got fixed.

Another reason for pulling the rad was it simply made it easier to build the mount and install the coolant recovery bottle.

I also pulled everything off the tail and got all the bare metal painted and stuff reinstalled. I also got the rear wiring harness started.

I got the rear half of the wiring done all the way to the rough area of the relay/fuse center.

I generally like to keep the electrical separately mounted but there simply was no room to do so.

So I had to start by pulling it apart at the tcase and grinding the support down because there was zero room for a head of a bolt of any kind. It was setup with shouldered bolts with an allen at the end and luckily the head was pretty shallow.

There is adequate room now..

So I jacked up the ass end to see just what gear the tcase was in. Nothing is tight but I was able to shift it. It will all have to come apart for paint once I get a few more things figured out.

So matt is coming out thursday so I can get him into the car and get the seat set where it needs to be so I can make the 4th mount. I also mounted the trans shifter(got a new cable sitting here to fix that) to see how it all fits him.

So most of you guys know how I am about electrical. I HATE pre-fabbed harness's. Here is a perfect example where **** is looped up and fitment is terrible. With how it is it waist's a perfect spot for the electrical center behind the motor. I am going to talk it over with matt and see if he wants me to fix it up RIGHT...

This stuff just drives me bonkers :D

So I started by reworking the winch mount. I wanted to widen the area for the rope to run without being damaged--it was very narrow.
