Project "Secret Squirrel"

So the taco motor has a forward pickup type of oil pan so one thing I have to do is swap it with a t100 oil pan (I believe thats waht it is, jack did the research on it and ordered the parts). So onto the motor stand it went, flopped it over and damn--oil and coolant on my clean floor :mad: :D

So here you can easily see the difference in the pol pans.

Pan removed and all prepped for the new pan

And now it sits like it should---should be just perfect for front diff clearance :;

So since I had ZERO things in the way now I figured I would finish cleaning the frame rails off---talk about a MUCH easier job with no sparks slapping off your face :redneck: I also was going to keep the front body mounts but I would have had to notch them to make it work---so I just cut the lil fawkers off. I will just build new ones when I do the front spring/winch assy...:; But they are all plasma'd and just need a lil grinder work and the motor will be ready to drop back in...

I know all about the T-100 pan.........what did you do with the dip stick?

Looks REAL good, BTW!

Well there is a hole in the pan and jack ordered so plug for it. He also ordered another dipstick tube and dipstick. But the dipstick tube didn't fit anyplace :D But the new dipstick fit into the old dipstick tube without hitting the bottom of the pan. I guess I will have to remember to fill the motor to the proper amount and see where it sits on the dipstick...

It won't work. There is a plug you need to knock out for the new tube and stick. I have not done it to mine so I can't check my oil........ya, it's on my list.

Oh ya, T-100 pan holds 6 quarts.

Is there a write up on it some place?

I am looking for it now........... On the newer Taco motors the plug is filled in.

EDIT:
What year is your truck? Somewhere along 2000 or so, Toyota stopped drilling the extra hole in the block. The T100 dipstick tube guide bolts right up, although it's not readily apparent. You kinda have to feed it through the motor mount. There is a blank plate bolted up where it needs to mount.

I just remembered you are using a 2.4L, so I have not clue if that is true for it.

I guess I will have to use the setup I have now :D

As long as we know where full is on the dipstick is thats all that matters right :;

yeah that would suck having to change the oil every time you check the oil to get the level proper!....LOL!

? why did you not switch the mounts around so that there was just small tabs on the frame and use the bussing on the motor mount it self ?

the ones in the 2nd pix are ones for a 16v but you get the pix that way there is only 2 tabs sticking out other then haveing the mounts sticking way out there jsut makes it easyer to take stuff in and out
