    4" LED lights /corners

Because LED lights draw much less power than and incandecent bulb you they are not drawing enugh power to heat up the metal in the blinker relay and cause the connection to break. Invest in a digital blinker relay and everything will work correctly again. You may need to do it for the hazards...

    swing-away tire carrier hinges

I just had this happen yesterday and thought that I would post it up. On the way home from running an errand the axle stub that I used for my hingle sheered and the tire carrier along with everything else swung out via the latch then came to a rest in the oncoming lane of traffic. Luckily there...

how did you mount your tube bender

Used a roto hammer to drill holes in the garage floor for all thread nuts and then epoxied the nuts into the floor. Bolt the bender to the floor when I need to use it then unbolt and move it out of the way the rest of the time.

    Gotta be shittin me

Just a thought ... If the batteries have a serial number embedded into them Optima may have a manufacture date associated with the SN and you may be able to get some credit on them.

    My YJ build

I got a chance to look it over at the swap meet. I like what you did to the windshield hinges so that you can remove it with out having to mess with the hinges. There are a lot of little details that make it work and I think that you are really going to like the results. What did you use for...

anyone know... what F/Brakelines fit a Tj?

I recently heard that the braided stainless are not so hot becuase of the plastic hose in side the stainless line. The theory was that if you can find a rubber line from some other application that you would be able get one any where in a pinch. There was also some discussion about the plasitc...

    arb problem

Check the solenoid first then. Make sure that it has not come apart (has been known to happen) and that you are getting power to the solenoid when you activate the switch for the front locker. The following link will show you an exploded view of the solenoid...

    Front End Wiggle

This kind of sounds like the death wobble but I am not sure as you do not seem to be alarmed enough. Maybe you do not have a full blown case yet and are just seeing the first signs. In any event here are some things that I would check out to start with: - toe in - leaf spring main eye bolts -...

    JK knuckle on a TJ??

Karl, Here are somethings that I found out need to be watched for when doing something like this. I am not saying that I have made this happen, but you are not the only one to consider something like this. Are you going to need to get bigger wheels? JK runs a 17" stock and thus has allot more...

No the shifter does not feel sloppy when in gear. It just feels like it is only going in about half way into gear max.

    Question - Trans issue with 97 5spd 4cyl Toy

Trying to help my sister and law out. She has a 97 Toy truck with a 4 cyl and 5spd. Problem is that it does not feel like it is going all the way into 3rd and 4th gears. At times it will pop out of 4th gear when warmmed up, and even pop out of 3rd if it is really warm. It does not have a...

    91 YJ motor question

87 to 90 was the first generation fo the 4.0. It used a Renix ignition system thus the link to Renix. 91 to 95 was the next generation of the 4.0 called (HO) with a new head design. You can use a block from the earlier 4.0 with a head from a 91-95. In 97 there was a change to the head and...

Towing a trailer with a Jeep?

I have towed my Coleman (sleep 6) popup with my 6cyl YJ on 32's and 4.10s. My best advice to you is to make sure you have brakes on the trailer if it weighs more than half that of you rig. Not only will it help with stopping all that rolling mass, but it's the law. Just do not want to see you...

Where is the best place to by Spicer?

I used to by Spicer (Dana) from my local Napa store also but I was told that Napa is going to stop carrying Spicer and start to carry Percision. The reason for that is Spicer is reportedly backing out of the aftermarket so it can focus OEM only. Napa is going to stop carrying Victor gaskets also...

Where is the best place to by Spicer?

U-joints in my rig are starting to get sloppy and I want to replace them with Spicer. Problem for me is that Napa reportedly is not carrying Spicer anymore. Does anyone have another local purchase point (Lynnwood or there about) that they like to purchase from and seems to have good inventory...

    Shop tools vs trail tools.

I am lucky enough to have a decent set of tools for both the shop and the rig. As to what is in the rig, I have a few more things than what I really need to work on my rig. The nice thing about that is if someone else needs one of the not so common things then I can help and everyone can...
