Here is the same fan I run---been a great unit and I fit it onto the rig and its going to be perfect. Its a 16" fan and the rad is about 18" of surface area but it pulls like crazy--will be perfect.

Here is the fan

And thermal switch so the fan can be automatic and not require an on switch to operate

If you search the part numbers you can find them for allot cheaper than thru Spal itself.

We "really" don't need them at this time since they are for the final phase of the project..

Mike,

Would this setup work in my Dakota? I've been trying to find a way to get rid of the mechanical MOPAR FUBAR fan setup in there since I bought it.

How hard is it to install?

They have those 4 caster dolly's for dirt cheap--perfect for putting the motor on one and the trans on the other so I can move the stuff around...

If too far I can figure something out or grab a couple when I get back out to Everett..

Mike, that fan you linked... what kinda rad are you running in your toy and what kinda temps do you normally see with that fan? Are you running it on a thermal switch or just on a toggle? Any kind of shroud around it or just mounted right to the rad?

I'm tackling some heat issues on the YJ right now, and I think that fan is going to do the trick... just want to get an idea before I pull the trigger on ordering one. I have a 16" hayden 3700 curved blade crappo fan from the local parts store that I bought but it's just not doing the trick on long, slow climbs on dirt roads (IE, getting to the trail, lol), I think the 1500cfm rating is just not enough.

Not sure how hayden can can get away with selling this kinda crap as a mechanical fan replacement.

Wanna stop by, or I can, and take a look see?

I have a bad one to see if it will fit harold.

I am running a rad out of a diesel toy--like a 3 core. The fan fits perfectly and I have never had a heat issue and in fact I can easily run the rig at my t-stat temp(185) with it running constantly even on the hottest days.

To make it dummy proof I am running it off a thermal switch(like the one I linked to) but I have a switch to disable it for those deep water crossings.

Almost there.....

Are you home during the day, or working? I have football practice every night.

Amazon the SPAL 30102120 for 45 bucks cheaper than directly through SPAL (comes from Amazon too, not one of their partner vendors), but I also noticed there's a few other unknown/random places that are even a little cheaper. I ordered through Amazon so I could get it ASAP with no worries.
