Truck Drives off mountain from String Trail (4W309)

Wow, scary. So if I understand, they drove off the trail where Ceg took the pics from intentionally to get to the bottom quicker? Even from the pics you can tell how steep that is and I know the camera doesn't show incline very well. What were they thinking?

    Reiter foothills

Well, hopefully that settles things and we can get back to answering Charlie's original request for help, which BTW is a very common thing done through out the country and even this state. Somehow a few people always seem to try and derail these efforts, thanks Crash for moderating that.

    Bunch 'O Pics from Ellensburg...

Open containers behind the wheel of a motor vehicle is illegal in this state. And that's just in your car, not in your hand like this pic shows. He does not have to have his lips on the bottle. Now if it was sealed and not opened, he'd be fine. Thread closed. Eeveryone has had their say.

what's the elevation difference between evans and elbe

Elbe was pretty deep in snow a couple weeks ago, but it's warmed up quite a bit. Still, the Busy would be pretty nasty for a shake down run.

How many ran Issabelle this weekend?

Actually that is not "dillusional" (sic) at all. It makes perfect sense to anyone with a reasonable amount of logic.

How many ran Issabelle this weekend?

Alright Brad knock it off. I agree with Crusty, this was dangerous and the biggest concerns are less experienced wheelers that tend to use Izzy. That spot was not hard before the storms why is it so important to leave it like that (dangerous)? That's all we need is some newbie rolling 3-4...

    Wheelin this weekend?

Yeah, I know. Half the trails at Reiter have dirty words in them it seems like. And even to water them down like that will make people whine, trust me.

    Wheelin this weekend?

Pat, I agree with you that the name pales in comparison to the bigger issues. But I disagree the name issue is not important. Corporations pay millions of dollars a year to companies that help shape their image. History has proven this successful time and again. While we are not spending...

    Wheelin this weekend?

Now this is truly something we should be debating about. The name game is stupid IMO and really the "Pit" people don't have a sound argument based on anything other than familiarity. And that doesn't outweigh the negative things associated with a name like "pit."

    Wheelin this weekend?

Reiter Pit is no more official than Reiter Trails. And as I said before, RTW did not come up with the name. I heard it in the SnoCo. ORV meetings long before RTW was even a thought in anyone's mind. I don't care if the call it Foothills or Trails or what. Anything sounds better than "Pit"...

    Wheelin this weekend?

I've talked to several outsiders (non-wheelers) about this issue. Yes, locals call it Reiter Pit and yes, I know that is for the gravel pit. It did not get its name from being "a pit." When I mention the name Reiter Trails, just about every person I talk to says, yes, that is a much better...

    Wheelin this weekend?

Reiter Pit is not an official name and neither is Reiter Trails. So it has nothing to do with rights. It has everything to do with image and the image to the outside world, not wheelers. And if you think a name doesn't mean much, you weren't paying attention in socialogy or marketing classes...
