90's throw back....Manche build

Finally! After about 12 attempts of resetting the shocks in multiple locations I was able to nearly attain the impossible, lol. 16" shocks on a manche with 40° of steering and 39's between the headlight and the door- (almost)...but alas I do have to go through the hood. Which doesn't upset me too terribly, aside from the sleeper theme, I do like the look of tasteful mounts through the hood.

Now I can rock and roll and finish the rest of the heavy fab before I can finally start the hanging of stuffs on the truck!

And here's the almost, had to get into the back of the market light area of the header panel. No biggie, was going to adapt an led light in there anyway.

Just don't buy any new tires. any more tread and you'll sound like those high school kids that stuff 33's on their stock 4runners. Lol

As always, sick work man.

Damn, that was part of my mall crawling, sleeper plan!

Only new tires I'll be buying are 37" dot-for road and/or race . Trail wise (38-39"), I'll continue to buy race take-off stickies...can't beat them for the price

Nice work Matt.
Thanks, maybe we'll both be done by spring riding season!

I like the idea of the all thread to get the shocks the same. I dont know where you come up with so many simple but very effective little things just like that but I have learned a few just from this one thread. Keep up the good work.

Thanks. I suppose the fact that I've worked by myself for years, I've managed little tricks to make doing things easier wth only two hands.

The all thread works awesome! Makes it easy to duplicate left and right, front to back. Easy to make adjustments during mock up, and even during fabricating for holding or tweaking things a degree or two. Seriously, when I was mocking up through round twelve, if I hadn''t been using this trick, it would have taken more than the two days that it did.

More progress, initially unsure about the mount, but it's growing on me, as of 3am this morning...

You could put a couple Vato Zone hood scoops on it to hide the towers. molaugh
I think I'll just get a 60" curved light bar and a hi- lift jack mounted to the hood, light in front and jack behind the shock hoop, drop the pre-load in the rear, and be a true bro-dozer...

:wtflol: A trailer park Cherokee lookin' sleeper! :driving:

The wheels and tires would give it away though. Need soft 8's and bald 33"s to pull off the trailer park Cherokee. Lol

I don't know what else to say, your work is simply amazing. Well, simply isn't the word for it. It's complex and intricate, a form and function combo that is just... simply amazing. drool

I really appreciate that 5bros. My brain won't let me do anything simple for some reason...

Both shock mounts complete.

While I had lots of scraps around my plasma cutter, I went ahead and installed the factory hood prop, I was tired of screwing with a stick... I will add a hook of some sort so no rattles.

We now have a roller.

Onto the bridge, bumps, and rear sway bar- courtesy of my good friend Paul.
