Little Gibby's 45 MB

I am still moving forward (slowly). I got the new crossmember cut and roughed in. I also "finally" figured out how I am going to mount the radiator(took a little thinking)..

So I have been poking along on it for the last couple of weeks and just running myself into circles. Did 3 different setups for the rad and scrapped them. Well like anything it just hit me and I went with it and got the result I was looking for. But in any case the rad is now mounted/ruffed in(gotta trim it on the outer edges) and damn solid.

So with the rad mounted the ps cooler location just fell into place. So next I will get that mounted and then onto the res tank (which I have a rough idea there)...

I have a bunch of free time finally so I am going forward...

I'm hoping that we can put a REAL reserve tank on it. I've seen that overflow bottle design a couple of times:haha:

I still have the original MD bottle on mine. I haven't wheeled it much lately but that bottle has seen plenty of abuse.:redneck:

Finally figured out a location for the p/s tank. I can either make a mount off the top of the p/s bracket or off the engine cage.. Got the rad pulled and trimmed and almost got the p/s cooler mounted...

This definitely took some time to find the sweet spot for this but I finally found it (picked up another 90 degree ARP fitting). The hard part was keeping it in place so I could make the standoffs--but I figured it out..

Got them made and tacked into place and pulled the engine cage and burned them in.

So next back to the cooler.... Hopefully have that in place tommorow..

So my original plan was to mount the p/s cooler under the new cross member. All my plans went out the door when I realized I had pulled the winch and with it in place there was a high chance of the cable smacking the cooler.

So I went with my second location which is still a good spot.

I got the rad back in to test fit everything and it looks great. Plenty of room to either run a mechanical fan or an electric fan.

So all the metal work under the hood is done except the clutch master which will only require a few holes in the plate next to the brake booster.,

So in the morning I move back and start the second battery tray that Dale wanted.

Getting very excited watching the finishing touches.

Looks like Jackson and I will get to the rest of the project fairly soon!

We're going to strip the drivetrain off, do some body work to get rid of some rust spots, replace the windshield frame. Then we're going to get everything painted one color and probably put a bed liner type of finish material on it. I might throw a marine type sound system in it.

Mike, it will still be coming back for a visit after that for you to finish all the wiring and plumbing work.

Mike, did I bring you a York air compressor, to see if you could find a place to fit it on?
